PUMO Servo Electric Cylinder - Product Overview and General Introduction
PUMO Servo Electric Cylinder is a modular linear actuator product launched by the PUMO brand that highly integrates servo motors with precision transmission mechanisms. It transforms the excellent speed control, angle control, and torque control capabilities of servo motors into precise control of position, speed, and thrust in linear motion. It is an ideal upgrade solution to replace traditional hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders in modern industrial automation. The PUMO servo electric cylinder adopts an integrated closed design, with the core consisting of a servo motor, precision ball screw or planetary roller screw, high-strength cylinder body, linear guide mechanism, high-resolution encoder, and servo drive unit. With the cooperation of PLC or motion control card, high-precision linear motion control of the fully closed loop can be achieved.
The PUMO series products cover micro, standard, heavy-duty, and customized special models, with a rated thrust coverage range from 0.5kN to over 100kN. The effective stroke can be customized according to customer needs from 50mm to 2000mm or even longer, with a repeat positioning accuracy of ± 0.01mm. Some precision models can be matched with external grating rulers up to ± 0.005mm. The motor connection methods are divided into three types: linear (coaxial direct connection), folding (parallel synchronous belt drive), and right angle (vertical reducer drive) to adapt to different installation spaces and layout requirements. The cylinder body is usually made of anodized aluminum alloy profiles or high-strength steel shell, and the surface of the push rod is plated with hard chromium for corrosion resistance and wear resistance. It comes standard with IP54-IP5 protection level, and can be equipped with IP66 and a telescopic accordion dust cover for harsh working conditions.
In terms of control, PUMO servo electric cylinder supports multiple communication protocols such as pulse/direction, ± 10V analog, Modbus RTU, CANopen, and EtherCAT. It can easily connect to various mainstream brand PLCs and industrial robot control systems to achieve complex process requirements such as single axis point-to-point motion, multi-stage speed planning, constant force pressing, and position force hybrid control. Compared to traditional pneumatic and hydraulic drive methods, PUMO servo electric cylinders completely eliminate the hidden dangers of compressed air leakage and hydraulic oil pollution.
