PUMO CNC Machine Tool Spindle/Motor Spindle is a core rotating functional component launched by PUMO brand for mid to high end CNC machining equipment, known as the "heart" of CNC machine tools. Its basic function is to drive cutting tools (milling machines/machining centers) or rotate workpieces (lathes) with controlled speed and torque, directly determining the machining accuracy, surface roughness, metal removal rate, and tool life of the machine tool. The PUMO spindle product series covers belt driven spindle units, direct drive spindle units, built-in servo spindles, and fully integrated electric spindles (built-in motor spindles), meeting the needs of different machine models such as vertical/horizontal machining centers, CNC lathes, turning and milling composite centers, flat/outer/inner cylindrical grinders, high-speed engraving and milling machines, and PCB drilling machines.


The PUMO spindle system consists of a precision spindle shaft system (alloy steel spindle subjected to quenching and cryogenic treatment+front/rear high-precision angular contact ball bearings or ceramic hybrid bearings), a drive unit (asynchronous induction spindle motor or permanent magnet synchronous servo spindle motor+vector/variable frequency drive), a loosening tool mechanism (including disc spring group, rivets, hydraulic cylinders/cylinders, and tool clamping force detection), a cooling and lubrication subsystem (forced water cooling/oil cooling jacket or air-cooled fins+oil air/grease lubrication), a built-in encoder (for C-axis orientation, rigid tapping, and full closed-loop position feedback), and a spindle housing or flange mounting shell. The standard configuration for shaft end taper holes includes BT30/BT40/BT50, CAT40/CAT50, HSK-A63/E50, and ISO taper. SK, CAPTO, or face milling cutter interfaces can be provided as needed; The lathe spindle is equipped with A2-5/A2-6/A2-8 spindle nose end and hydraulic hollow chuck interface.


The PUMO electric spindle series adopts the design concept of "Zero Transmission" - the motor rotor is interference fit on the spindle neck, and the stator is embedded in a housing with a cooling jacket, completely eliminating intermediate transmission links such as belts and gears, making the length of the main transmission chain zero, eliminating belt tension fluctuations, gear mesh backlash, and additional vibration sources. The maximum speed can reach 24000~60000rpm (precision engraving and milling/PCB special type), radial/axial runout ≤ 0.002mm, and temperature rise control within Δ T ≤ 15 ℃ (with closed-loop cooling). The speed range of the direct/belt drive spindle used in conventional machining centers is usually 6000-12000rpm, with a rated power of 5.5-22kW and a rated torque of 35-235N · m. It supports rigid tapping, spindle orientation, and C-axis contour control (turning milling composite). All PUMO spindles undergo dynamic balance calibration (G1.0~G2.5 levels), running in and temperature rise testing before leaving the factory, and provide complete spindle runout detection reports, noise spectra, and vibration value records. The control system is compatible with mainstream CNC system spindle interfaces such as FANUC, SIEMENS, MITSUBISHI, SYNTEC, etc. (analog ± 10V, serial spindle bus or EtherCAT/CANopen digital bus), which facilitates system integration for machine tool manufacturers.
